Investment Services

Fee-only investment advisory services for individuals and families

We help you plan for retirement and other long-term objectives through fee-only investment advisory services and considered planning. All strategies involve risk, including the possible loss of principal.

GateKeeper Investment Advisers, LLC is an advisory practice / DBA of investment adviser representatives of Royal Fund Management, LLC, an SEC-registered investment adviser. Advisory services are offered only through Royal Fund Management, LLC.

How our investment advisory process works

Every engagement begins with a conversation about your goals, time horizon, tax situation, and existing accounts. From there we propose an approach to portfolio construction and ongoing management that fits your circumstances.

What our fee-only advisory services include

  • Investment advisory services under a fee-only compensation model
  • Portfolio construction aligned with a written investment policy
  • Retirement income planning and account coordination
  • Adviser oversight and periodic review meetings
  • Investment education so you understand what you own and why

Social Security claiming is a key piece of retirement income planning. Our related site SocSecMax prepares a personalized claiming-strategy report as a separate, educational service. No claiming strategy can guarantee a particular outcome.

Our fiduciary obligation and fee-only compensation

When providing investment advisory services through Royal Fund Management, LLC, our investment adviser representatives are subject to a fiduciary duty under the Investment Advisers Act of 1940, including duties of care and loyalty. This does not mean that all services, third-party tools, or outside professionals referenced on this website are provided by Royal Fund Management or are covered by an advisory agreement.

We are fee-only: compensation comes solely from stated advisory fees disclosed in Form ADV Part 2A and in the client advisory agreement — no commissions, referral fees, insurance commissions, solicitor fees, or other third-party compensation. Learn more in our guide to the difference between fiduciaries and financial advisors, including how to verify an advisor's fiduciary status.

Common Questions

Frequently asked questions about our advisory services

What does a fee-only financial advisor charge?
Fee-only compensation comes solely from advisory fees disclosed in Form ADV Part 2A and the client advisory agreement — no commissions, referral fees, insurance commissions, solicitor fees, or other third-party compensation. Specific fee schedules are provided before any engagement begins.
How is a fee-only fiduciary different from a commission-based advisor?
A fiduciary acting in that capacity owes clients duties of care and loyalty for the investment advice provided, and fee-only compensation removes commission incentives from the advisory relationship. Our guide on fiduciary vs. financial advisor differences explains how to verify an advisor's status.
Do you help with retirement income and Social Security planning?
Yes. Retirement income planning and account coordination are core parts of our advisory engagements. Social Security claiming analysis is offered through our related educational service, SocSecMax; no claiming strategy can guarantee a particular outcome.
Can I open a Roth IRA or Traditional IRA through your firm?
Advisory clients can open Roth IRAs and Traditional IRAs custodied at Charles Schwab through our guided online account-opening flow, which includes a risk-tolerance assessment and generates the custodial paperwork for your review and signature.
Is there a minimum account size or commitment?
Engagement terms, including any account minimums, are described in Form ADV Part 2A available on our disclosures page and discussed before you sign an advisory agreement.
Do you work with clients outside the Dallas area?
Yes. While we are based in Dallas, Texas, we work with clients remotely. Meetings can be held by phone or video, and account opening is handled online.
